5-Year Improvement Program
The Round Lake Improvement Board (RLIB) has contracted Progressive Companies to provide professional consulting services and guide the Board through a 5-year Lake Improvement Program. While the Board manages the funds and approves the plans, Progressive Companies executes the hands-on oversight and management. Through this approach, the RLIB ensures your assessment dollars are strictly managed while professionals care for our lake.
Their scope of services includes:

Contracting & Bidding
Preparing bid documents and/or contract extensions for nuisance aquatic plant control, including mechanical harvesters and chemical applications.

Permitting Support
Providing support data and documentation required forĀ EGLE (Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy) permits.

GPS Lake Surveys
Conducting four GPS-guided surveys during the growing season to pinpoint where plant control is needed.

Precision Mapping
Generating geo-referenced prescriptive treatment and havesting maps to direct the work of plant control contractors.

Quality Assurance
Surveying the lake post-treatment to evaluate contractor performance and ensure job completion

Cost & Environmental Oversight
Coordinating plant control activities so work proceeds in an environmentally sound, cost-effective manner.

Board Consultation
Conferring regularly with authorized Lake Board representatives on weed growth and contract performance.

Payment Guidance
Reporting findings back to the Board to verify work and guide approved contractor payments.

Annual Record Keeping
Maintaining complete records of treatment dates, herbicides applied, acres treated, and species targeted, summarized in an annual report.
